 Revival of Pakistani Film Industry has given new hope and courage - Sana Fakhar

During an interview, Sana Fakhar said that Pakistani filmmakers should make films keeping international markets in mind. She also said that she ponders her role thoughtfully before signing a project. Sana Fakhar recently appeared in a film, after a long break, her item song in the film Hijrat made quite a stir.

While speaking about the downfall of Pakistani film industry, Sana said that revival of film industry has given hope and courage, she further said:

It was lack of planning that made our film industry to nosedive; as a result it made technicians, and side actors jobless who were attached to the industry. Since now film industry is on its way of revival it is high time that we make serious planning so that our films can compete at every major platform.”

According to film star, it is good sign that Pakistani films are releasing internationally now, however, there is still need to broaden the circle of our films’ reach. Sana says that she is ready to serve in any capacity for the betterment of the industry and so far, she is enjoying working with new people who have ambitions.

Sana said:

“We should appreciate the passion and ambition because if these two were totally lost then we would have never been able to see our films doing good again as they are doing these days.”

On a question about her comeback to big screen, Sana Fakhar said:

“Tough my appearance was for a song only in ‘Hijrat’ but whoever has seen the item song has admired my performance; I have been receiving so many emails and messages of appreciation on social media. Right now I am working on two movies – ‘Zehar e Ishq’ and ‘Raasta’, these two films are on the final phase right now and I have important roles in these films.”


Sana made her film debut in 1997 with Syed Noor’s “Sangam” and after that she did many films including box office hits like “Ghar kab Aao Gey” and “Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa”. However, since the downfall of Pakistani cinema Sana moved back to her first home – TV, where she appeared in TV serials and won the reality show “Madventures”. Now when film industry is back on its feet Sana has also made her big screen come back.
