RJ turned TV presenter Sophiya Anjam is adding another feather to her hat as she joins as a host for Lalkaar, TV One’s special series focusing on various social and healthcare issues in country. Lalkaar aims at not only creating awareness and providing information but also guidance with regards to many of the factors hat effect the people of Pakistan.
Team MeiaSpringPK reached out to Sophiya AKA RJ Sophie to learn more about her role with Lalkaar. She said:
“Only Pakistan and Afghanistan are only countries left to eradicate polio completely, which is very unfortunate.The series of Lakaar I am hosting talks about the vaccination and why it is important. Amid COVID-19 people are scared and reluctant to get their children vaccinated that is further denting the cause. Also we must appreciate the polio workers who are working tirelessly in this unprecedented times to help eradicate the virus from Pakistan. I feel that parents must understand that this matter should be dealt on priority.”
TV One started the campaign based show earlier this year and has covered various parts of Pakistan. Moreover, to reach wider audience and enhance the awareness creation effort TV One is doing the show in regional language too. Pashto and Sraiki shows are coming very soon. Lalkaar is a national campaign and not focusing on one province or a city only. Also this is a group based initiative where not only TV One but also News One, Waseb and Radio One are engaged in the project Lalkaar.
Talking about joining the campaign and show recordings, Sophya said:
“The show also focuses on corona virus updates, healthcare system in Pakistan, healthcare related campaigns and a lot more. Quite popular hosts have been doing this show focusing on various topics and issues. Now Lalkaar team wanted to have a presence here in Punjab, I feel humbled and honoured to be part of it for Punjab part. We have recorded the show that will air very soon. It is two hour long special show and there are going to be more editions of the series.”
Lalkaar is surely a worthwhile effort that is for the future of our country and a healthy future of children. Because if we deal with health issues of today the Pakistan of future will be a much better place.
Sophiya Anjam in past has also hosted the weekend show for PTV World, for PTV Home she hosted a music show Signature Tunes, and she is a regular host of flagship radio show of FM91, Drive on with Sophie. Apart from hosting TV and radio shows, this full of energy lady is very active as a host of various events and activities such as brand seminars, brand launches, charity events.
