Veteran TV actor Saba Faisal recently made it clear that she prefers not to be addressed as “aunt” and has no qualms about pointing it out to those who do.
During a recent appearance on a private TV channel’s Ramadan broadcast alongside fellow veteran Hina Khawaja Bayat, Faisal discussed the common practice among co-actors of referring to her as ‘aapa’ or ‘aunt’, even when they are of the same age or older.
“I tell them not to call me aunt, I don’t want to be called that,” Faisal asserted during the conversation.
Reflecting on a recent incident, Faisal recalled how one of her statements was misconstrued and sensationalized by several media outlets, leading to widespread discussion.
“A few months ago, people misunderstood something I said during a chat program,” recounted the ‘Habs’ actor. “It happened when the host asked if I still receive marriage proposals, to which I replied, ‘I get them from young boys and tell them to approach my grandson.'”
Faisal lamented the misinterpretation of her statement, expressing disappointment at how it was taken out of context and circulated widely, sparking unnecessary discussions.
On the work front, the veteran actor was last seen in ARY Digital’s popular drama serials, ‘Sar-e-Rah’ and ‘Samjhota’.
