Samaa News anchor Sidra Meer leaves media industry to prioritize family

In a sudden development, Sidra Meer, one of the key faces of Samaa News, bid farewell to the channel and the media industry. The reason behind her sudden decision is yet to be confirmed, but sources suggest that she chose to leave to spend quality time with her daughter, who was born last year.

Hailing from Sialkot, Sidra started her career in January 2015 as a news anchor at Lahore-based channel Royal News. In April of the same year, she joined Aman News and remained there till December. In February 2016, she joined 7 News as a news and program anchor; that channel was her first shot to fame. Her popularity soared during her stint at 7 News, but in December 2017, Sidra left the TV channel and joined Samaa in Karachi.

For the past five years, Sidra has been one of the key faces of the newscast team at Samaa and has also been a stand-in program anchor for the channel in various shows, such as the hugely popular evening news show, 7 Se 8.

Sidra’s departure from the industry has left her fans in shock, but many have also praised her for prioritizing her family. We wish her all the best for her future endeavors and hope that she finds success in whatever she chooses to do next.
