Islamabad-based news anchor and TV presenter Sameena Kaamran has joined News One in Karachi after leaving PTV News. Sameena parted ways with PTV News a couple of months ago to give time to her infant son.

Sameena has been part of PTV since January 2019 and now has moved to Karachi to join her new channel. It is pertinent to mention that Sameena Kaamran, previously known as Sameena Rana, got married to her former colleague and Bol News anchor Muhammad Kaamran in 2020 who is based in Karachi.
While talking to MediaSpring Pk, Sameena said:
“Coming back to private media was a decision that I had to consider and take because I have been with state broadcaster for three years now and It was time to move on. Moreover, moving to Karachi is an important decision on the personal front too since this will help me give more quality time to the family since my husband is also in the same city, managing the family remotely being a working woman in another city with an infant son is not an easy job. Working at PTV was one of the best experiences of my career. That place is certainly a TV channel where one must work once. I have loads of best wishes for Pakistan Television. I am sure this new place and new city will be a great turn in my career. And one thing I must say I will really miss Islamabad.”
Hailing from Faisalabad, Sameena has been part of the Pakistani media industry for more than nine years now, she started her career in 2013 when she moved to Islamabad to join Pakistan Television as a news anchor. In 2014 she moved to Sach TV in Islamabad.
In November 2014 Sameena joined Capital TV where she till November 2016 and then had a brief stint with News One in Karachi. In early 2017-18, Sameena had a brief stint at 92 News in Lahore and Hum News in Islamabad where she was part of the channel launch team. In 2018, Sameena moved back to Lahore and joined Captial TV which was moved to Lahore from Karachi. She was not only a prominent news anchor of the channel but also an ace newscaster Sameena was also the face of the news hour of the channel known as Pakistan @ 8.
In 2019 she moved back to Islamabad and joined PTV News again and remained an integral part of the news anchoring team of the state news channel.
Sameena Rana holds a degree in Mass Communications from Government College University Faisalabad.
