Ace news anchor and the face of Dawn News, Samia Liaqat, is set to take the helm once again for this year’s Ramazan transmission on the channel. Titled “Ronaq e Ramazan,” the transmission promises a blend of enlightenment, spirituality, and community engagement.
Samia, a seasoned anchor at Dawn News, will be hosting her third Ramazan transmission in a row, Her debut as a Ramazan transmission host in 2020 and return garnered widespread acclaim from viewers and industry professionals alike, underscoring her prowess in delivering meaningful content during the holy month. She however missed out to host the same transmission in 2021, however made a comeback to the role in 2022.
In an exclusive conversation with MediaSpringPK, Samia expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “It feels really good to be hosting my Ramazan show again. My previous experience tells me that it’s a big responsibility. For such an assignment as a senior anchor, I cannot afford to come on screen without proper homework.”
Reflecting on her past experience, Samia added, “The past transmissions were a great learning experience. Today, I feel that there were many things that I have learned and gained so much of confidence. This year, I am hoping to use that confidence and learnings to deliver an even better show, drawing from my experience.”
With a commitment to excellence, Samia emphasized the importance of research and preparation, acknowledging the significance of viewer feedback. “I believe this will be a great learning experience for me as I will be learning a lot more about our beautiful religion in the process of providing information to the viewers. Since this transmission is a great responsibility, I understand the importance of studying and research in this regard.”
Samia Liaqat embarked on her broadcast journalism career in 2010 with Channel 5, later joining Sach TV. Her journey led her to Dawn News in May 2013, where she has since become a prominent figure in the field. Holding a degree in fine arts with specialisation in graphic designing from the University of Punjab, Samia brings a unique blend of expertise and dedication to her role as a leading news anchor.
