The much anticipated “Shaan-e-Pakistan” platform, powered by Braahtii, presented their festive opening night at The Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi. With over 700 guest’s presents, Ek Shaam Pakistan Kay Naam, the inaugural Shaan e Pakistan event, presented a Pakistan-Indian culinary journey as created by celebrated Pakistani Chef Gulzar Hussain and Chef Osama Jalali from India. The evening included a spell binding qawalli by one of Pakistan’s most iconic qawalls, Amjad Sabri. Indeed Ek Shaam Pakistan Kay Naam marked a celebration of the shared food and flavours of the sub-continent.
Ek Shaam Pakistan Ke Naam was hosted by renowned Pakistani media personality Anoushey Ashraf who introduced the vision behind the Shaan e Pakistan platform highlighting the cultural and culinary synergy between to the two countries.
This was followed by the introduction of #Shaanepakistan curator and powerhouse, Huma Nassr of Braahtii, who warmly welcomed guests and highlighted this unique effort to bring together Pakistan and India’s shared heritage under one umbrella. She also spoke of the cultural bonds between the two countries and how #ShaanePakistan was a platform to further such bonds and go beyond borders. Pakistan High Commissioner Mr Abdul Basit further addressed audiences and spoke positively on the platform and its vision.
Shaan-e-Pakistan will continue with a two day exhibition in New Delhi as well as a fashion show.
Indeed Shaan-e-Pakistan’s aim at large is to develop trust, growth and business among Pakistan’s and India’s fashion, culinary and handicraft industries. Further, Shaan-e-Pakistan has also collaborated with Eros (Former Shangrilla) Hotels, India where they will celebrate the culinary heritage of both countries. To this end a special menu titled “Singh Sahib” has been created by the Indian Chefs whereas Chef Gulzar and Chef Nasim from Pakistan have created their own, drawing on the culinary tradition of Pakistan’s provinces.. This association with Eros Hotel is one that will continue after Shaan-e-Pakistan in their 7 days long food festival (13th-20th) by the name of Dawat-e-Maghrib in association with Shaan-e-Pakistan powered by Braahtii.
