Shaheen Shah Afridi has reclaimed the number one ranking in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings following a standout series performance that led Pakistan to a 2-1 victory over Australia. Shaheen’s remarkable figures of three for 26 and three for 32 in the second and third matches saw him rise three places to the top with 696 rating points, dethroning South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who now sits third. This marks Shaheen’s return to the top spot for the first time since October 2023.
Haris Rauf, named Player of the Series, also achieved a career milestone, climbing 14 slots to 13th place with five for 29 in the second ODI.
In the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, West Indies captain Shai Hope re-entered the top 10, reaching 10th position after his side’s 2-1 series victory over England. Meanwhile, West Indies batters Keacy Carty and Brandon King hit career-best positions following their centuries against England, with Carty in 52nd and King in 71st. England’s Matthew Forde also broke into the top 100 of the bowlers list, sitting at 94th after an impressive three for 35.
