Shahnawaz Dahani among Pre-Draft Signings for Harare Hurricanes in Zim Afro T10 Tournament

The highly anticipated Zim Afro T10 tournament, organized by Zimbabwe Cricket in collaboration with T10 Global Sports, is set to captivate cricket fans as the player draft approaches on July 2nd. Excitement builds as the five participating franchises reveal their pre-draft marquee players, with Shahnawaz Dahani making waves as one of the key signings for the Harare Hurricanes.

The inaugural edition of the Zim Afro T10 tournament is scheduled to kick off on July 20th, with an enthralling grand finale planned for July 29th. All matches will take place in Harare, adding to the local cricketing fervor. In the run-up to the draft, each franchise can secure up to four top international players as their pre-signed selections.

The Harare Hurricanes have wasted no time in assembling an impressive roster, led by their pre-draft signings: Eoin Morgan, Evin Lewis, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Robin Uthappa. Shahnawaz Dahani, the rising star from Pakistan, has caught the attention of cricket enthusiasts worldwide with his impressive performances. Known for his blistering pace and uncanny ability to swing the ball, Dahani’s inclusion in the Hurricanes’ squad further bolsters their chances in the tournament.

As the franchise squads take shape, the other participating teams have also revealed their pre-draft signings. The Cape Town Samp Army has secured the services of Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Karim Janat, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Maheesh Theekshana, while the Durban Qalandars have enlisted Asif Ali, Sisanda Magala, George Linde, and Hazratullah Zazai. The Joburg Buffaloes will rely on the experience of Yusuf Pathan, Mushfiqur Rehman, Tom Banton, and Noor Ahmed, while the Bulawayo Braves have strengthened their lineup with Sikander Raza, Ashton Turner, Tymal Mills, and Ben McDermott.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament, Zimbabwe Cricket’s Managing Director, Mr. Givemore Makoni, stated, “We are in the final stages ahead of the Zim Afro T10’s inaugural edition.” The tournament’s significance is also acknowledged by Mr. Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, Founder and Chairman of T10 Global Sports, who remarked, “To bring the T10 to Zimbabwe has been high on the agenda for us in the recent past, and that we are on the home stretch ahead of the inaugural edition of the tournament is a source of great satisfaction for me.”

In line with the squad composition rules, each team must have a minimum of 16 players, with at least six of them being Zimbabwean. Additionally, one Zimbabwean player will be selected from the emerging player category through a nationwide talent hunt, further promoting local talent and ensuring a balanced representation in the tournament.
