Pakistan Shaheens will be without fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani for the remainder of their Darwin tour due to a back injury. Dahani, who had been a key player in the squad, will miss the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’, starting on Friday, as well as the white-ball leg of the tour, which includes two one-day matches and the Top End T20 Series.
The 25-year-old Dahani, who made a notable contribution by taking four wickets in the first four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’, is set to return to Pakistan immediately. He will undergo assessment by the medical panel and begin the rehabilitation process.
In Dahani’s absence, spin-bowling all-rounder Mubasir Khan has been added to the white-ball squad as his replacement. Additionally, Khurram Shahzad, who was initially scheduled to return after the completion of the two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’, will now be available for selection in the one-day matches against Northern Territory Strike and Bangladesh ‘A’ on August 4 and 6, respectively.
The team management will be hoping for a swift recovery for Dahani as they continue their tour in Australia.
