Shahzad’s Match Double Puts PTV in Driver’s Seat Against State Bank in President’s Trophy Final

PTV took a significant lead in the President’s Trophy Grade-One final against State Bank, thanks to a brilliant batting display by Mohammad Shahzad and Waqar Hussain.

PTV was bowled out for 317 runs in their first innings, with Shahzad scoring an unbeaten 125 and Hussain contributing 106. The duo’s 123-run partnership for the sixth wicket was the highlight of PTV’s innings.

In response, State Bank ended the second day’s play at 37/1, still trailing PTV by 75 runs. Imran Butt (29) and Umar Amin (5) were at the crease when play was called off.

Shahzad, who had taken five wickets in State Bank’s first innings, including a hat-trick, became the first player in the tournament to score a century and take five wickets in the same match.

State Bank’s bowling attack was led by Nazar Khan, Mohammad Abbas, and Kashif Bhatti, who took three wickets each.

The match is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium under floodlights, using a pink ball.
