TV anchor and presenter Shajia Niazi has made a comeback on TV screen after a long break. Shajia is now part of the state broadcaster, Pakistan Television as a programme anchor.

Shajia has been associated with Jang Geo group as a journalist and later as a programme host. Her shot to fame was hosting the show Mere Mutabiq that she hosted for nearly six years. In 2020, she parted ways with Geo News and in 2021 she joined 92 News for a brief stint. On 92 News HD she hosted Monday-Sunday 11 pm slot programme Harf-e-Akhir. After leaving 92 News, Shajia took a break from media to spend time with her daughter.
She remained active on social media, when she was away from the TV screen, and established herself as a social media influencer as well.
While talking to MediaSpring Pk, Shajia said:
“PTV is going trhough a rapid proces of evoluton and we all have seen the improvements and refined screen on the state broadcaster. It is exciting to be part of this network and play my part in this process of new era of PTV and PTV News. I have conducted three programmes so far for PTV News and PTV Global and experience has been great. The programme, ‘Voice of Overseas’, as the name suggests, is about overseas Pakistanis and covers varius aras related to Pakistani diasphora around the world. As I have said before, Geo will always be a mother institution for me. I had a great six years there in Geo News. Meray Mutabiq was a practice match to start my innings. And it will be a long innings, INSHALLAH! I need prayers of my followers and viewers.”
Her show from PTV News, Voice of Overseas airs every weekend on PTV News as well as PTV Global.
Hailing from Mianwali, Shajia Niazi holds an M.Phil degree Research track Journalism. She started her journalism career with Daily Jang and remained with the newspaper till 2014. In 2014, she moved to the group’s TV channel Geo News where she hosted the news analysis show Mere Mutabiq with Sohail Waraich and Hasan Nisar.
Besides being a TV personality, Shajia is also very active in social work and activism.
