Sidra Amin Shines as Lahore Secures Second Consecutive Win in National Women’s T20 Tournament

Lahore continued their winning streak in the National Women’s T20 Tournament with a stellar performance against Rawalpindi, securing a 41-run victory at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. The highlight of the day, however, was Sidra Amin’s exceptional unbeaten innings of 85 runs from 60 deliveries.

Choosing to bat first, Lahore faced an early setback as Sadaf Shams departed in the third over. Captain Sidra Amin, however, took charge and anchored the innings with a brilliant display of stroke play. Supported by partnerships with Bismah Maroof and Iram Javed, Sidra propelled Lahore to a formidable total of 160-3 in 20 overs.

Bismah Maroof contributed a valuable 12 runs, while Iram Javed added 22 to the scoreboard. The finishing touches were provided by Kaynat Hafeez (22 not out) as Lahore set a challenging target for Rawalpindi.

In response, Rawalpindi faced early blows as Aima Saleem and Fajar Naveed’s promising opening partnership was disrupted by Lahore’s Areesha Noor. Despite Natalia Parvaiz and Waheeda Akhtar’s efforts, Rawalpindi struggled to keep up with the required run rate.

Leg-spinner Ghulam Fatima and left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu wreaked havoc on Rawalpindi’s batting lineup, each securing three wickets. Areesha Noor added to the misery with two wickets as Rawalpindi concluded their innings at 119-9 in 20 overs.

Sidra Amin’s outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match award, cementing Lahore’s position at the top of the table with their second consecutive win in the tournament.

The day’s action also witnessed Karachi dominating Peshawar, winning by a commanding margin of 101 runs at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, Multan emerged victorious against Quetta, securing a 21-run win at Ayub Park Ground. With these results, Karachi and Multan celebrated their maiden wins in the tournament.
