Sindh raced to 190 for the loss of one wicket at a staggering run rate of 5.28 in reply of Central Punjab’s 387 for nine on day two of the pink ball affair at the Gaddafi Stadium. That it happened was due to half-centuries from Khurram Manzoor, who struck 51 off 50 (seven fours), and Ahsan Ali, who was unbeaten on 88 off 99 (10 fours and a six).
Khurram and Ahsan provided a solid 109-run opening stand before Zafar Gohar ended the former’s stay at the crease. Ammad Alam ensured that the run rate doesn’t take a hit with his 49 not out off 67 (four fours and three sixes).
Earlier, Central Punjab declared their innings on 387 for nine. Mohammad Saad converted his overnight 44 into 88 and Abid Ali was out for 122 after starting his day at 113.
Junaid Ali and Zafar Gohar made 35 and 24 in the middle-order.
Sindh’s left-arm orthodox Mohammad Asghar finished with four for 143, while pacer Mir Hamza finished with three for 65.
Central Punjab added one more batting point to their tally for breaching the 300-run mark inside 100 overs. Sindh, for dismissing four batters, got one bowling point
