SNGPL Clinches President’s Trophy Grade-I with Dominant Performance

In a spectacle of cricketing brilliance, SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited) secured a resounding 519-run victory over WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) in the final of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Day One: Batting Brilliance

SNGPL’s dominance began on the first day of the final as their batters displayed exceptional prowess, amassing a formidable total of 479 for seven in 80 overs. The spotlight shone brightly on Sahibzada Farhan, Kamran Ghulam, and Saud Shakeel, who etched their names into the annals of cricketing history with splendid centuries.

Sahibzada Farhan’s masterful innings of 161 off 206 balls, coupled with Kamran Ghulam’s composed century of 101 runs from 136 deliveries, laid the foundation for SNGPL’s imposing total. Saud Shakeel’s blistering unbeaten knock of 123 off just 81 balls further bolstered their innings, as they scored at an impressive rate of nearly six runs per over. A quick-fire cameo from Mubasir Khan, who scored 44 off just 20 deliveries, propelled SNGPL to a commanding position.

Day Two: Shahnawaz Dahani’s Magnificent Spell

On the second day, SNGPL’s dominance continued, this time with the ball, as Shahnawaz Dahani wreaked havoc on the WAPDA batting lineup. His fiery spell of fast bowling yielded seven wickets for a mere 42 runs in 12.4 overs, leaving WAPDA reeling at a paltry total of 140 all out in 34.4 overs. Supported by Mir Hamza’s two crucial wickets, SNGPL asserted their dominance and seized a commanding lead of 339 runs.

Day Three: Bilawal Bhatti’s Heroics

The third day witnessed yet another display of SNGPL’s dominance, this time with Bilawal Bhatti leading the charge with a scintillating century. His elegant knock of 101 runs, combined with a spirited 91 from Mubasir Khan, propelled SNGPL to declare their second innings at 346 for eight in 82 overs, setting WAPDA an imposing target of 686 runs for victory.

In response, WAPDA’s batting lineup crumbled under the relentless pressure exerted by SNGPL’s bowlers. Despite a valiant effort from Ayaz Tasawar, who scored a brisk half-century, WAPDA fell short, managing only 166 for nine in 32 overs. Shahnawaz Dahani continued his stellar performance, clinching two more wickets to finish with match figures of nine wickets for 94 runs.
