Sri Lanka Cricket XI 45 runs behind Pakistan

Sri Lanka Cricket XI had five wickets in hand and trailed Pakistan by 45 runs when stumps were called on day two of the three-day warm-up being played at Colts Cricket Club Ground.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz accounted for the opposition captain Nipun Dananjaya (c) and wicketkeeper Lahiru Udana, while Yasir Shah, Naseem Shah and Salman Ali Agha snared a wicket each.

The hosts were provided a solid start with Sadeera Samarawickrama and Nuwanidu Fernando scoring 91 and 78.

Pakistan, in the first session, were all out for 323. Salman, resuming his innings on 43, struck second half-century of the innings with a 79-ball 55. His partner Saud Shakeel retired out on 30.

To make the most of the match and provide maximum match time to all the players in the squad, Pakistan’s all 18 players will feature in the match.

Pakistan are in Sri Lanka to play the hosts in the two ICC World Test Championship fixtures. The first Test will run from 16-20 July in Galle. For the second Test (24-28 July), the visitors will return to Colombo to play Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa International Stadium.
