Startup Grind Lahore hosted its virtual talk “The Way Forward for Data Analytics in Corporations and Startups”, as part of #SGWomen Leaders Month in which Startup Grind highlights the accomplishments of successful women in leadership from around the world.
The event, presented by CopperGAT Cables Ltd. welcomed Haseeb Safdar, (Director of CopperGAT Cables Ltd.) and featured Aisha Memon, (Data Governance and Democratization Product Owner at Cisco and CEO & Founder of AlKemizeX) as the guest speaker, who is based in California. This event was lead by Mahrukh Qadeer (Chapter Codirector at Startup Grind Lahore & CEO, Co-wired) who is heading the chapter’s women’s leadership initiative and continually ushers innovative ideas to build women’s entrepreneurship in Pakistan. The session was opened by Khadija Mashood Mian (Marketing Executive at Startup Grind Lahore) and was moderated by Laiba Malik (Coordinator at Startup Grind Lahore and Associate Consultant at xCALYBR). The talk was attended by professionals from the startup ecosystem and corporate world.
During the fireside chat, Aisha shed light on a wide range of emerging issues surrounding data within contemporary organizations. She delivered valuable insight to attendees on the importance of a strong technological interface and optimizing data utilization within organizations, data autonomy, and self-governance. She conferred on the dilemma of developing vs buying data solutions, advice on how businesses should be adopting data concurrent to the global market and employing it in order to scale, as well as the necessity and value of data privacy and consumer protection and how this could positively affect long-term customer retention. Aisha also discussed her approach to empathy-based leadership and its necessity in today’s world and her own experience with her company AlKemizeX, which specializes in empathy-based transformation services.
The event closed with an engaging Q&A session led by attendees, followed by beneficial breakout sessions for networking. As the event concluded, Iftikhar Hussain (Chapter Director at Startup Grind Lahore) stated that Startup Grind Lahore stay committed to developing generative opportunities such as this in the future. He also said that he is grateful to the whole team for their continuing efforts to develop the startup ecosystem in Pakistan and encouraging women’s engagement.
