Stellar Lineup: Netflix’s First Pakistan-Themed Original “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” to Feature A-List Cast

Netflix is set to make waves with its inaugural Pakistan-themed original series, “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo,” as it brings together a constellation of stars renowned not only in Pakistan but also across South Asia and beyond. The series is an official adaptation of the bestselling 2013 Urdu-language novel by Farhat Ishtiaq, bearing the same title, and is poised to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative.

The heart of the series revolves around Sikandar, a Harvard law student who undergoes a life-altering incident that compels him to distance himself from others. His journey intersects with that of Liza, a talented artist with a vibrant spirit but a troubled past. The two serendipitously cross paths in Italy, setting the stage for a tale of transformation and connection.

Leading the ensemble cast are Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, whose on-screen chemistry previously enthralled audiences in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” the highest-grossing Pakistani film to date. Joining them is Sanam Saeed, celebrated for her role in the Zindagi series “Barzakh” alongside Fawad Khan. Ahad Raza Mir, known for his role in the Netflix series “Resident Evil” and his standout performance in Season 2 of BBC’s “World on Fire,” adds his talents to the mix.

The star-studded lineup further includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, who portrayed the main antagonist in “The Legend of Maula Jatt”; Bilal Ashraf (“Superstar”), Maya Ali (“Parey Hut Love”), Iqra Aziz (“Raqeeb Se”), Hania Aamir (“Parde Mein Rehne Do”), Khushaal Khan (“Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri”), Nadia Jamil (“Jo Bichar Gaye”), Omair Rana (“Pinjra”), and Samina Ahmed (“Ms. Marvel”).

The production of this much-anticipated series falls under the helm of Dubai-based Momina Duraid Films FZ – LLC, with acclaimed producer Momina Duraid serving as the showrunner. The series is understood to have been commissioned by the Netflix Middle East and North Africa team.

Shot across scenic locations in Italy, the U.K., and Pakistan, “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” promises to deliver a mesmerizing viewing experience. While the exact streaming date remains undisclosed, anticipation for the series is undoubtedly mounting.

Farhat Ishtiaq, the mastermind behind the source material, has previously adapted several of her novels for Pakistani television, including “Humsafar,” “Mere Humdum Mere Dost,” “Matae Jaan Hai Tu,” “Diyar-e-Dil,” “Bin Roye,” and “Yaqeen Ka Safar.” Meanwhile, Netflix’s upcoming series “Heeramandi” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is poised to explore the historic Heeramandi area of Lahore in pre-independent, undivided India.

The exceptional talents of Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Ahad Raza Mir are exclusively managed by Hamid Hussain and Muhammad Yaqoob at Action Consultancy, underscoring their dedication to nurturing exceptional careers.
