“This award recognises our organisation’s efforts in promoting equal opportunities at the workplace,” said Areej Khan, Chief Human Resources Officer, Telenor Pakistan. “Given the potential for economic growth that comes as a by-product of inclusion and diversity, we at Telenor Pakistan firmly believe that everyone should be given equal employment opportunities. We look forward to continuing our commitment to creating a diverse and more inclusive culture where everyone feels valued.”

Telenor Pakistan is committed to promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion. Through the Girls Learn, Women Earn initiative, Telenor Pakistan trained over 1,000 women from across the country in digital literacy, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the digital economy. Telenor’s ‘NayaAghaaz’ initiative is a pioneer platform designed for women on a break from their careers to get back on the professional track. In addition to upskilling that comes with the program, Telenor Pakistan further offers facilities like mental health counselling, mentorships, placement support, flexible working hours and provides its employees with the opportunity to connect and get inspired by other females through its extensive women empowerment network called EmpowHer.

Moreover, Telenor Pakistan’s work on Taleemabad—an e-learning program—has empowered and educated 768,000 female students since its inception and shattered the perception that women are digitally illiterate. At the same time, the Organisation’s child online protection program has upskilled one million children, with 50% of them being girls, through its Safe Internet Program.

Telenor Pakistan’s commitment to women empowerment extends beyond the workplace and into the community, where they support initiatives that promote gender equality, education and diversity while making a difference in women’s lives and helping them achieve their full potential.
