The impactful character made me sign Chaudhry – The Martyr film: Sana Fakhar

One of the finest and versatile actresses of Pakistani cinema and TV, Sana Fakhar was last seen on big screen in a comic role in Wrong Number 2. Now the diva will be seen as Chaudharni in her upcoming film.

Sana is busy shooting for her forthcoming film Chaudhry: The Martyr, a film based on the life of SP Chaudhry Aslam. The actress will be playing the wife of the SP.
Sana Fakhar says that the character is very impactful that is the biggest reason for her to sign this film. While speaking to MediaSpringPK Sana said:
“The moment I learned that this film is based on true events I decided to join it. I love the idea of playing a real life character. I want to do impactful roles and films that are female-oriented or give women a pivotal role. Chaudharni is a strong female character that too with a message. This is a serious film that touches upon many subjects and shows a different side of the true story.”

Further talking about her choice of work for big-screen Sana said:

“Today, after more than two decades with cinema, I am at that point of my career where my scripts and content is the most important thing for me. I want to play those roles on screen which are meaningful for me as an actor as well as for my fans and viewers. The Chaudhrani of the film Chaudhry has a lot of depth and layers. I love to do challenging work now, it is always good to do something that tests my acting skills.”

SP Mohammad Aslam Khan, better known as Chaudhry Aslam, was known as Karachi’s toughest cop. In 30 years of service in the Karachi police, he was known as a icon and role model for many. He was assassinated in January 2014.

The star cast of the film includes Shamoon Abbasi and Yasir Hussain along with DSP Tariq Islam, who carried many raids alongside Chaudhry Aslam himself.

The shoot of the film is underway these days, the release date is yet to be announced.
