The Zim Afro T10 Cricket Tournament Set to Ignite Zimbabwe with Thrilling Matches

In less than two weeks, Zimbabwe will witness one of the most exhilarating cricket tournaments as the Zim Afro T10 kicks off. Organized by Zimbabwe Cricket and T Ten Global Sports, the tournament promises to be a carnival of cricket, featuring five teams vying for top honors.

The Zim Afro T10 marks franchise cricket’s debut in Zimbabwe and is set to captivate fans with a schedule filled with action-packed matches. The tournament will commence with a grand opening ceremony in Harare on July 20th, followed by the first game between the Harare Hurricanes and the Bulawayo Braves.

The five privately-owned teams participating in the tournament are the Harare Hurricanes, Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, and the Johannesburg Buffaloes. These teams will compete fiercely in nine games scheduled over the next three days, with three matches played each day. The thrilling contests will take place at the picturesque Harare Sports Club.

The Zim Afro T10 schedule includes six days with three matches each, along with two game days featuring two matches. The tournament will reach its climax on July 29th with the grand final scheduled for 5pm local time. The closing ceremony will follow, bringing an end to this captivating event.

Givemore Makoni, Zimbabwe Cricket’s Managing Director, expressed his excitement, stating, “The announcement of the  Zim Afro T10 schedule has heightened the anticipation in the country, and we are eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament. We expect this to be a fantastic event, and I am confident that Zimbabweans will wholeheartedly embrace the high-quality cricket on display.”

The Zim Afro T10 Tournament is set to showcase the talents of renowned players, including Eoin Morgan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Sikandar Raza, among others. Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to an unforgettable cricketing extravaganza that promises exhilarating matches and memorable moments on the field.
