Ramazan transmission is nothing new for Marium as she has previously hosted Pakistaneo Ka Ramazan on Neo TV HD, however this time the Ramazan transmission that she is presenting is different as she said, “this is my third Ramazan transmission . so with that experience this year it was not difficult at all, this time transmission is only different may be because we don’t have any core religious content in it. So we only trying to cater social issues, bit of them, and in the next hours could be do is we try to cover diet plan and health issues that we can face in this hot weather and Ramazan specifically.”
She further commented on how her Ramazan show is different from other show, “What makes GNN Ramazan transmission different from others is that we tried to take care of masses and when it comes to masses we don’t talk about religious issues because i don’t think i am licensed enough to do so, I am not eligible to talk about it. So that is why we have deliberately done this, having said that there are a lot of religious transmission going on already. Hence, GNN is different at one point we discuss social issues and the second one we discuss health issues – which are need of the hour.”
The transmission is indeed different as compared to other Ramadan related content that we see on TV and Marium believes that this approach is fruitful:
“So obviously this is fruitful, because people can call and directly connect with experts in our transmission to discuss their problems and seek solutions and I can also call it fruitful because of the instant feedback we get through social media as well as our personal Whatsapp messenger and our live calls. I can say that the experience has been great and I feel happy for this success.”
Marium thinks that quallity contnt is still a winner on TV and there is a lot of vacuum and cushion when it comes to content and expectations of viewers. She is of the view that such vacume need to be tapped and fill it with the good content. She believes that the entire media industry and news media industry needs to rethink and re -ponder as to how we can re-design the transmission for next year with more rich content and more worthwhile content.

About the trend growing Ramazan transmission or shall we say Ramazan entertainment, Marium said:
“The audience are very smart now. There was a time when every the morning show used to have a lot of dance, mehndi and shadi content and makeup competitions and what not – crazy stuff was (and still is) going on – but now people are very selective with the exposure they have become very smart, now they know about a lot of choice they have and with a big number of TV of channels they are happy to pick and chose as well as tell you if your content is good otherwise. If it is good then the content is here to stay and if it is not up viewers’ advantage the content will be out rightly rejected.”
She also beleives that the responsibly to train, and educate viewers still likes with media, “yes we still need to train masses, I believe the responsibility lies on the media and we have somehow failed in doing so but I believe this is the time that we we start thinking about it seriously, because the way we have seen growth in the number of social media users, now it is definitely more challenging for us to stay in the game- because with social media the content consumer has become content producer also – we have to be actually very smart and proactive in setting the direction right,” said the morning show host.
