Things continue to get more intriguing in drama serial ‘Qayamat’

Drama serial ‘Qayamat’ is getting intense and interesting with each passing episode. The compelling narrative, as well as powerful performances, has helped the audience to connect with the characters and has us hooked to the drama. Last night’s episode was also a roller coaster one with some important developments taking place.

Rashid takes Samra out for dinner but as he sees Pari, he goes to meet her. Upon his return he sees Samra and Saad talking to each other and makes an issue out of nothing. Saad had only seen Samra sitting alone so he came to ask her how she was doing but Rashid levels all kinds of accusations on her of being disloyal to him. His mother also makes sure that Samra is not spared but Jawad intercepts and then Samra goes unconscious. Later we find out that Samra is expecting. Amar Khan has done a phenomenal job as Samra and makes us feel for her character and connect with it every step of the journey.

Haroon Shahid’s performance as Jawad is also appreciable. Whether it is those romantic scenes with Ifrah or those in which he is a voice of reason for his mother and brother Rashid or the scenes in which he tries to convince his parents and then his father to ask for his proposal for Ifrah, he nails it all. Upon Jawad’s insistence, his father asks for Ifrah’s hand in marriage for Jawad, despite his wife’s opposition but it doesn’t seem that she will let this happen. The preview of the next episode suggests that she will ask Rashid to stop this from happening, making things more difficult and complicated for Samra.

Overall, it was a decent episode that took the story forward to some extent. It not only showed Rashid’s arrogant and his mother’s hateful attitude towards Samra even after knowing that she was expecting, but it also showed some changes in Samra as she tried to reply back to Rashid. As we wait in anticipation to find out what will happen next, the audience can only expect the situation to intensify, since the powerful direction by Ali Faizan, Sarwat Nazeer’s excellent penmanship and some incredible performances gives us a lot to look forward to.
