Day two of the National T20 Cup 2023-24 showcased intense battles and outstanding individual performances across venues in Karachi. Packed with gripping encounters, the day witnessed victories from determined sides and captivating displays of skill and strategy.
Group A
- Peshawar showcased their prowess with a commanding seven-wicket victory against Lahore Whites. A splendid bowling effort limited Lahore Whites to 128-9, and an unbeaten half-century by Adil Amin propelled Peshawar to a comfortable chase.
- Karachi Blues secured a five-wicket win over Quetta, anchored by Saifullah Bangash’s stellar 77. The team chased down the target of 146 runs in 19 overs, overcoming Quetta’s 145-8 earlier in the day.
Group B
- Karachi Whites exhibited dominance with a resounding eight-wicket triumph against Dera Murad Jamali. The duo of Asad Shafiq and Omair Bin Yousuf led their team to victory by comfortably chasing 183 runs in 17.5 overs.
- Lahore Blues clinched a thrilling one-wicket victory over Hyderabad in a closely contested battle. A collective batting effort aided Lahore Blues in their pursuit of 154, eventually reaching the target on the last ball.
Group D
- Multan emerged victorious with a seven-wicket win against AJK, courtesy of a splendid batting performance by Sharjeel Khan and Haseebullah, leading their side to victory at 132-3 in 17.3 overs.
- FATA secured a thrilling two-run (DLS method) victory over Sialkot in a rain-affected encounter. Despite Sialkot’s valiant effort, FATA held their nerve to seal the win at 77-1 in 8.3 overs as per the revised method.
