Pakistani cinema had a very good year, after a long time there were films which were looking promising. Pakistani cinema gave its biggest ever box office hit this year and now we can safely say that Pakistani cinema is now entering into post revival stage.
Here are the top ten box-office earners of Pakistani Cinema in 2015.
10 – Moor
Moor was declared a classic even during the making of the movie. Jami proved himself as a filmmaker. Film might be the 10th hisghest earner of the year in Pakistan but it was apluded by the critics and it was Pakistan’s offiical entry for the Oscar awards. Moor earned 1.85 carore Rupees.
9 – Maya
Maya was another disappointment. Directed by Jawad Bashir this horror drama could only earn 2 crore Rupees to be the 9th biggest earner of Pakistani cinema of the year.
8 – Dekh Magar Pyar Se
Dekh Magar Pyar Se was a box office disapointment. With all the hype about the film, huge claims by the leading cast Humaima Malick and Sikandar Rizvi this film could not make up to any of them and nose dived. #DMPS only earned over 2 crore Rupees.
7 – Manto
By far the best film produced in 2016, which will be identity of Pakistani cinema for many years to come. Sarmad Sultan Khoosat completely nailed it. Manto the film manaed to gain critical acclaimed as well as generated a discussion in the society yet again on Manto. The biopic earned over 5 crore Rupees.
6 – 3 Bahadur
3 Bahadur is considerd as a blockbuster for being the first ever Urdu language 3D animation movie produced in Pakistan. 3 Bahadur collected 6.64 crore Rupees
5 – Karachi Se Lahore
Karachi se Lahore was a road travel film marking big screed debut of Ayesha Omer and Shahzad Sheikh. However, the real soul and show-sealer of the film was Yasir Hussain in his role of Moti. This film earned nearly 10 crore Rupees.
4 – Jalaibee
A Mafia movie produced and directed by Yasir Jaswal did not get admirable assessment from the critics but This film staring Danish Taimoor, Ali Safina, Wiqar Ali Khan,Zhalay Sarhadi, Sajid Hasan, and Supermodel turned actress Sabeeka Imam was able to earn over 10 crore Rupees.
3 – Wrong No.
Wrong No. was a comedy of errors oriented film directed by Yasir Nawaz. Danish Taimoor and Sohai Ali Abro stared Wrong No. had all the right elements to bag over 15 crore Rupees.
2 – Bin Roye
It was more of an extended TV drama by Momina Duraid for a bigger screen. Bin Roye, the love triangle of Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan and the debutante Amreena Khan earned over 29 Crore Rupees.
1- Jawani Phir Nahi Ani
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is the highest grossing movie all time in history of Pakistan. It broke the record of Punjabi flick from 1998, Chooriyan. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani earned over 46 crore rupees.
