2019 has been a low year at the box office for Pakistani cinema. There was not a single blockbuster in a calendar year. Year’s gross has seen a massive fall of around 35% compared to last year.

The three Eid ul Azha releases alone had minted close to PKR 1bn at the box office last year whereas this year the commutative gross of top 5 has hit PKR 1bn. Here are top five highest grossing Pakistani films of 2019.

Parey Hut Love.. 240 million & Superstar.. 240 million

Top position is secured by Parey Hut Love and Superstar as both the films are ending their runs in almost similar regions. Both films had big costs involved and much better box office performance was expected as Eid ul Azha is biggest bonanza of the year at box office.

Wrong No 2.. 215.5 million

Wrong No 2 has secured third position and the film is the biggest hit of the year. This year only three films have managed to hit PKR 200 million mark and for the first time since 2014 no film has managed to hit PKR 250 million mark which is a huge let down.

Chhalawa.. 180 million

With a business of 180 million at box-office Mehwish Hayat starer Chhalawa is at number four spot

SherDil.. 130 million
