Top Five Box Office Hit films of Pakistan in 2018

2018 has been a noteworthy year for Pakistani cinema performance. This year 21 films released, a good number of these were projects of good budget and we did notice some improved production quality. This year for the first time in the history of Pakistan our  films surpassed the two billion landmark (as per website Boxofficedetail).

Here are the top money making films of Pakistan from 2018:

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2

The Eid ul Azha release was the biggest hit of the year and the history of Pakistani cinema. Studded with stars and fine actors coupled with solid punchlines of Vasay Chaudhry, JPNA2 is a truly fan favourite.

Film collected 35 Crores at the box office.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon

Story of Pakistan Air Force officers and their brave combates runing along emotional romantic drama. The much anticipated Hamza Ali Abbasi starer Parwaaz Hai Junoon turned out o be another hit of the year. The film was also released on Eid ul Azha and this is also first Pakistani film to be commercially released in Saudi Arabia.

PHJ has earned 33.5 Crores at the box office.

Teefa in Trouble

Teefa in Trouble is not only the third biggest hit of the year but also the biggest hit of Ali Zafar’s film career. The film was released in the aftermath of Ali Zafar’s harassment scandal, which did not dent the film much. The comic action flick bagged 33.5 Crores and this is the biggest non-holiday release film business.

The Donkey King

Afzal “Rambo” Khan made the huge comeback to the cinema this time as the king of Pakistani animated movies. Donkey King is the biggest animated hit film of the year. Not just Afzal Khan but also many other big names of Pakistan voiced for the film.

The Donkey King has crossed 22.8 Crores mark thus far.

7 Din Mohabbat In

7DMI is a mix of fantasy and romance penned by Faseeh Bari Khan, which was on point. Performances of Mahira Khan, Shehryar Munnawar, Javaid Sheikh and Amir Qureishi did justice to the story and earned them praises. 7 Din Mohabbat In was released over Eid-ul-Fitr and faced tough competition as it released with six other films. Despite having limited screens this film collected a decent sum of 11.5 Crores at the box office.
