TTen Sports Management Expresses Disappointment Over ICC Charges in 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 League

TTen Sports Management, the organizers of the T10 tournament held in the UAE, has expressed deep disappointment in response to charges filed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) against eight individuals, including two team co-owners, for alleged breaches of the anti-corruption code during the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League.

In a statement released on September 19, 2023, the ICC disclosed that the charges encompassed attempts to corrupt matches in the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League. Those charged include a former Bangladesh international, two domestic players, and three team officials. The ICC, responsible for overseeing the tournament’s anti-corruption measures, emphasized that the attempts to corrupt matches were thwarted.

Sanctions for such breaches could potentially lead to life bans from the sport, underlining the seriousness of the allegations.

TTen Sports Management expressed its strong commitment to maintaining the integrity of cricket, stating, “We take all allegations of this nature seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of corruption.” The organization pledged to continue collaborating closely with the ICC on their calendar of T10 tournaments and affirmed its dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity within the sport.

Among those facing charges, one team co-owner allegedly failed to disclose corrupt approaches and did not cooperate with the tournament’s anti-corruption unit, while another was accused of placing bets on the outcome of matches.

The developments surrounding these charges are expected to cast a shadow over the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League and serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and credibility of cricket at all levels.
