Uber in the spirit of independence has partnered with Leisure Club for their ‘Clothing A Million Smiles Campaign’ and The Robin Hood Army to collect surplus food from the restaurants in Lahore and deliver them to the deserving on the 14th of August.
Uber and Leisure Club are aiming to come together to collect your old clothes and redistribute them to the needy. Celebrating Independence Day will be as simple as ordering an Uber from the comfort of your home and handing over the donations once it arrives at your door step for free. Uber partners will be collecting donations from all over the city to drop them off at Leisure Club where the donations will be cleaned and repackaged in order to have them delivered to multiple charity organizations across town.
The Robin Hood Army works to get surplus food from restaurants across to the less fortunate people in cities across Pakistan and Uber will be providing them logistical support in order to facilitate their mission in Lahore on the 14th of August.
Speaking about the CSR partnerships, Zohair Yousafi – Uber’s Head of Expansion in Pakistan said, “This independence day, in the spirit of giving back to Pakistan we will be partnering with Leisure Club to deliver clothes and The Robin Hood Army to deliver food to the underprivileged in our society. Along with creating employment opportunities in the communities we operate we also believe in playing our part for social progress by partnering with socially responsible organizations.”
Uber has a long-term commitment to bringing a safe, reliable transport option to Pakistan at the push of a button, as well as creating tens of thousands of jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for the drivers that use the technology for work. Partnerships like that of Leisure Club and The Robin Hood Army aim to take the convenience and reliability of the Uber technology beyond transport to take on a more active role in civic society.
