Ufone Ramzan 2016 – A Campaign to Extend Support for Impactful Social Causes #ItsAllAboutU

Lately Pakistani organizations have started to take CSR quite seriously. CSR stands for corporate social responsibility it is an activity that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but instead promote positive social and environmental change. In case of Pakistan execution of such activities go around the year, however, Ramzan is the best time of the year to carry out such effort.

Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) better known as Ufone is one organisation that is famous for robust marketing campaigns especially TVCs, nation’s favourite telecom provider has always kept CSR activates in their yearly plan. This year during the month of Ramzan Ufone has come up with the biggest CSR campaign that it has carried out till date.

In his speech the CEO of Ufone reflected upon the Ramzan Campaign of the organisation, he said:

Ufone’s brand is all about U in the sense that we see the customer in the center of our efforts, it’s not a technology, a fancy trend or the next fashionable buzz word. We work here in this country, for people who enjoy and master their daily lives together with the ones that are important for them. They are the “U” we mean.

Ramzan is a time to reconsider, how we can learn from people who are an outstanding role model in the attitude which we consider part of “it is all about U”. So we decided to look for such acts of goodwill and to support them we decided to give them a platform over this Ramzan.

Telecom companies are amongst the heaviest advertising spenders in nearly every country in the world. And this money is used to talk about ourselves all the time.

This Ramzan Ufone will let people talk who really make a difference when you think about ‘it is all about U’.”

Ufone has extended its support to three social causes with Ufone Ramzan 2016 campaign. These projects include, Deewar-e-Meherbani by team Wadaan, Khana Ghar, and Operation Eid Child. All these campaigns are running independently by members of civil society and without any celebrity endorsements. Ufone has taken the lead to promote the good work these projects are carrying out.

Over the years we have seen, in Pakistan, that telecom industry is major spender when it comes advertising, marketing campaigns, acquiring celebrity endorsements, brand re-launches and media buying. Amidst all that Ufone has a taken an exceptionally intrepid initiative to endorse small yet bearing social initiatives.
