The Anti Corruption Unit of Pakistan Cricket Board has summoned Umar Akmal.
Akmal has been asked to appear in front of PCB ACU to clarify his statement that he game in a recent TV interview. Akmal said that he was offered $200,000 by fixers to leave two deliveries in one of the matches. Moreover, he claims to be approached by a fixer during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
As per ICC anti-corruption code 2.4.4 and 2.4.5, players are bound to report to the authorities about the corrupt approaches made to them during an event and failure of doing so carry a minimum punishment of five years.
