Usama Mir’s Five-Wicket Haul Propels Sialkot to Victory as Lahore, Peshawar, and Abbottabad Triumph in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

Usama Mir’s remarkable five-wicket haul powered Sialkot to a 10-wicket win over Quetta in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s second round at Multan. Sialkot needed only 36 runs in their second innings and achieved this with ease in just 5.5 overs, marking their second consecutive victory. Usama ended with figures of 5 for 51, supported by Awais Ali, who took 3 for 54. Quetta, starting the day at 108 for 3, were bowled out for 212, following a first-innings deficit of 176 runs.

In Abbottabad, fast bowler Niaz Khan’s 4 for 39, added to his first-innings 6 for 97, led Peshawar to a dominant 181-run win over Bahawalpur. Chasing a stiff target of 344, Bahawalpur was all out for 162 despite Mohammad Ammar’s fighting 51. Mohammad Amir Khan provided strong backup with figures of 3 for 45.

Meanwhile, Abbottabad defeated Faisalabad by 134 runs at Islamabad’s National Ground, claiming their first win of the tournament. Faisalabad, resuming at 69 for 2 with a daunting 419-run target, reached 285 before folding, as Abbottabad’s Israr Hussain wreaked havoc with figures of 6 for 69.

In Lahore, Lahore Blues secured their first win by overcoming Karachi Blues by four wickets. Chasing 206, Lahore Blues got home with contributions from Hammad Butt (78 off 140 balls) and captain Imran Butt (39).
