Ushna Shah is often in the news for her outspoken stance on social issues, and for all the right reasons. The actress is pretty vocal about social issues in the country and this time she has drawn attention to a prevalent trend in the desi society, that is ‘cousin marriages’.
The diva recently took it to her Twitter handle and urged the media industry as well as the artists to stop promoting cousin marriages as it causes several health issues in children. Shah encouraged the media personnel to avoid depicting such practices on-screen, posting down the diseases that manifest in children conceived out of cousin marriage.
Thalassemia is known to be a major problem in Pakistan as millions of children suffer from it and have fallen victim to it due to cousin marriages.
