Former Pakistani pace sensation, Wahab Riaz, has been appointed as the head of the national men’s selection committee, marking a significant addition to Pakistan Cricket Board’s managerial domain. Wahab’s extensive international experience, spanning 27 Tests, 91 ODIs, and 36 T20Is, contributes to his new role’s authority and insight.
Acknowledging his appointment, Wahab expressed honor and gratitude for the trust vested in him by PCB Management Committee Chairman, Mr. Zaka Ashraf. He underscored the significance of involving former players in cricket administration, emphasizing his commitment to the advancement of Pakistan cricket.
Assuming the challenging role, Wahab emphasized the imminent tours – the Test series against Australia and the T20I series versus New Zealand. He highlighted these tours’ significance within the ICC World Test Championship and as pivotal steps in shaping a formidable unit for the ICC T20 World Cup slated for the USA and the West Indies in the upcoming year.
