WAPDA and SBP Clinch Victories on Day Three of President’s Trophy; PTV Maintains Lead Over KRL

The action-packed third day of the sixth round in the President’s Trophy 2023-24 witnessed Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) securing impressive victories over their opponents, while Pakistan Television (PTV) continued to dominate their match against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL).

WAPDA vs. Ghani Glass at State Bank Stadium, Karachi:

WAPDA emerged victorious against Ghani Glass by a significant margin of 294 runs at the State Bank Stadium. After posting a total of 366-4 in their second innings, WAPDA bowled out Ghani Glass for a mere 224 runs. Asif Afridi’s stellar bowling performance, claiming five wickets, played a pivotal role in WAPDA’s triumph.

SBP vs. HEC at National Bank Stadium, Karachi:

SBP showcased their dominance over Higher Education Commission (HEC), securing a comprehensive 10-wicket win. Salman Ali Agha’s five-wicket haul restricted HEC to low scores in both innings, setting the stage for SBP’s emphatic victory.

KRL vs. PTV at UBL Sports Complex, Karachi:

PTV continued their impressive performance against KRL, with Waqar Hussain and Mohammad Suleman scoring remarkable centuries to keep KRL under pressure. Despite KRL’s efforts, PTV set a daunting target of 426 runs. KRL faces an uphill task on day four, requiring 331 runs to win with seven wickets in hand.

With these victories, WAPDA and SBP further solidify their positions in the tournament, while PTV maintains their lead over KRL. As the competition intensifies, all eyes are now set on the final day of the sixth round, where teams will battle it out to secure crucial points in the President’s Trophy.
