[Watch Video] Shaheen Afridi’s Last-over Six Seals Victory for Nottinghamshire in T20 Blast

Alex Hales starred with an unbeaten 65-run knock to guide Nottinghamshire Outlaws to a thrilling victory in the Vitality Blast. Hales set the tone with aggressive batting early on, ensuring his team maintained a healthy run rate throughout the innings.

As the game progressed, Hales shifted gears and played the role of anchor, allowing Tom Moores and Shaheen Afridi to unleash their power and steer Nottinghamshire to victory with four balls to spare.

The match reached its conclusion without any last-minute drama, thanks to Afridi’s explosive hitting in the final over. Afridi smashed two sixes off de Leede and Trevaskis, sealing the win for Nottinghamshire. His quick cameo of 17 runs from 12 deliveries, featuring two sixes and a four, proved to be vital in securing the team’s triumph.

Earlier in the game, Durham’s Ollie Robinson took on the Nottinghamshire bowlers, including Afridi, with a flurry of boundaries. Robinson notched up his second consecutive fifty in the Vitality Blast after his impressive showing against Yorkshire.

However, Afridi exacted his revenge by dismissing Robinson. In the last two overs, Afridi and McKerr tightened the screws on Durham, conceding just nine runs and preventing them from posting a larger total. Afridi finished with bowling figures of 1/39 in his four overs.

At the end of their innings, Durham managed to accumulate a total of 168 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
