West Indies Return to Pakistan for First Test Series in 19 Years

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the schedule for the West Indies men’s cricket team’s historic tour of Pakistan for two ICC World Test Championship matches. This marks the West Indies’ first Test series in Pakistan since November 2006.

The Caribbean side will arrive in Islamabad on January 6, 2025, and kick off their tour with a three-day warm-up match against Pakistan Shaheens at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from January 10-12. The Test series will then unfold in Multan, with the first Test scheduled from January 17-21 and the second from January 25-29.

Tour schedule:

  • 10-12 January: Three-day match vs. Pakistan Shaheens, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • 17-21 January: First Test, Multan Cricket Stadium
  • 25-29 January: Second Test, Multan Cricket Stadium

Playing hours for the Tests will feature three sessions:

  • Morning Session: 0930-1200
  • Afternoon Session: 1240-1440 (1300-1500 on Fridays)
  • Evening Session: 1500-1630 (1520-1650 on Fridays)

This tour is part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle and marks a continuation of cricketing ties between the two nations, with the West Indies having visited Pakistan thrice for limited-overs series since 2018. Their last away Test encounter with Pakistan took place in the UAE in 2016.

The Multan Cricket Stadium is set to host both Test matches, as fans eagerly await this significant series, symbolizing the strengthening of cricket diplomacy and sportsmanship.
