What I have seen and heard proves that there is a clear majority of men that is problematic: Absa Komal

Broadcast journalist and TV anchor, Absa Komal, while commenting on growing cases of violence against women, said that the debate of #AllMen and #NotAllMen is not even relevant right now as Pakistan is going through a social crisis and we need to resolve it no matter what.

Absa was a guest on Hum News program Hum Meher Bokhari Ke Sath. While talking about the incident of Minar e Pakistan where a Tik Toker became a victim of sexual terrorism and growing cases of violence against women in Pakistan, news anchor turned program anchor said:

“I Do not think that the debate of#AllMen or #NotAllMen is even relevant right now. What I have seen and heard proves that there is a clear majority that is problematic. We are going through a social crisis.”

Hailing from Islamabad, Absa Komal graduated from ICG with a bachelor’s degree in educational psychology in 2012. She started her career as a radio jockey in 2011 at Power FM 99 Islamabad. Her TV career started in 2013 with ATV where she was a newscaster. In 2013, she joined the newly launched Capital TV in Islamabad. In April 2014, Absa moved to Karachi to join Samaa as a news anchor and six months later in October, she became part of Geo News.

Absa worked for Geo for six and a half years and as the face of the channel, she not only did news anchoring but also conducted various transmissions and hosted shows. She became a program anchor with Geo News’ hugely popular show Report Card when she took over the role of show’s hosting in 2018. In 2020, Absa left Geo News and took a break from the electronic media, and moved to the USA. Earlier this year she returned to Pakistan and launched her podcast. In March, this year, Absa joined Dawn News in Islamabad where she hosts the current affairs show News Eye.
