When it comes to harassment, Pakistanis do not act as responsible here in Pakistan as they do abroad: Shiffa Yousafzai

Broadcast journalist and breakfast show host Shiffa Yousafzai draws a comparison between Pakistanis’ attitude about the following law and behaving well abroad and at home. According to the TV anchor, Pakistani men act very responsibly and do not even dare to look at women when they are in America, Canada, Europe, etc but the Pakistani men here in Pakistan harass and commit violence against women.

Shiffa was a guest on a Dawn News program to discuss the Lahore incident where 400 men harassed a Tik Toker at Minar e Pakistan on the independence day.

Commenting on the huge difference in the behavior of Pakistani men, Shiffa said:

“When Pakistani men go to the UK, USA, Canada, etc., they don’t even look at the woman sitting in front of them in the train, subway, bus, or tube. But why these same men turn unbridled in Pakistan?”

Shiffa Yousafzai did her Master of Arts in Multimedia Journalism from Manchester Metropolitan University and has worked with Dunya News and WWF, besides being a morning show presenter at Hum News she contributes to News Line as a writer.
