Who was involved in the revolt against Wasim Akram’s captaincy? Mushtaq Ahmed spills the beans

Former Pakistan national cricket team bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed appeared on ARY News’ Bouncer program and spoke about the revolt against Wasim Akram’s captaincy.

Former leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed admitted that his decision to revolt against Wasim Akram’s captaincy in 1993 was wrong.

Mushtaq Ahmed said that at that time we were young and some people talked to us and we were used. Who used it? When asked, he said that he would not take their name.

Refusing to name the players, Mushtaq Ahmed said, “It was my fault. It is not the fault of the one who follows, but the one who follows.”

Mushtaq Ahmed, while naming the cricketers involved in the revolt against Wasim Akram, said, “I, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis, Basit Ali, Rashid Latif and six to eight players who revolted.”

“After becoming captain, Wasim Akram should not have allowed a communication gap between the players and we should have understood that he has now become captain and his role has changed,” Mushtaq Ahmed said.

“We had a problem with Wasim Akram’s behavior. He used to be very strict but he was also a friend. Now we have a better friendship with him,” he said.
