Weddings anywhere in the world mean serious business and when it comes to Pakistani weddings the extravaganza is bigger in many folds. This is considered and regarded as the big day for the bride and she wants everything spick and span. And if one thing goes against the plan it means the whole idea of a dream wedding has gone wrong.
This past week I happened to see one such example of things going against the plan hence the emotional disturbance was the result. Newscaster turned TV anchor Mahvish Tabassum posted a video on her Instagram (which she later deleted). In the video, she told the story that how a miss-commitment from a renowned salon caused hassle on the wedding day of her sister-in-law.
The salon in the discussion here is Karachi-based Kashee’s Beauty Parlour. Which, is owned and run by the hugely popular and much celebrated Kashee.
Accordion to the video statement of Mahvish Tabassum the whole experience was shambolic. Mahvish said:
“4th November 2021 was the wedding day of my sister in law and our experience with the very famous Kashee’s salon was nothing but worst. Earlier in May when I got married I had opted for Kashif’s signature makeup for my walima [wedding reception] and I really liked my look, therefore, I recommended my sister-in-law to go for the signature makeup of Kashif (Kashee).
“A week ago we did the advance booking and got the appointment for the signature bridal make-up for my sister-in-law and model makeup for the six ladies of the family including myself. We’re happy with the styling, I won’t say that there was an issue with their work as far as hair styling is concerned however the makeup artist was very rude, however, their behavior towards the clients was very disrespectful and rude. It felt like, from their behavior, I was at some substandard government-run hospital rather than one of the famous salons of the city. The staff was even rude towards the bride too and the staff was forcing her to buy their extensions, which was totally unnecessary considering she already had long hair, moreover, she wanted to have a hairdo rather than untied hair. The behavior was so rude that the bride was so upset that she started crying.”
There was an issue of miss commitment from the side of the salon as well, Mahvish said:
“We categorically told them that we need the bride ready by 5:30 pm or 6 pm at max, and we did follow the timeline they gave us. However, by the time we were supposed to leave the salon the only the hairstyling was done and Kashif was not there for the make-up we were told that Kashif is stuck with some emergency we can get the make-up done by Anam, Kashif’s sister, as she is as good of a makeup artist as Kashif. I must say that Anam’s behavior was good however she started the makeup when we were already late.
“No staff member was helping us with dupatta styling and her dress styling as well, upon asking them again and again the staff misbehaved with us again and literally pushed us out of the building, I wish I could film that and put it up on the internet.”
The fact remains that Kashif was in Turkey on the said date and Mahvish confirmed this in her video statement:
“I contacted Kashif’s personal assistant Fariha and explained the whole situation to her, upon which she apologized to me on behalf of her staff and told me that Kashif was in Turkey to attend IPPA, had he been at the salon the staff’s behavior would have been better. This angered me further that they have been dishonest, lied, and did miss commitment. I will never recommend Kashee’s to anyone ever again.”
Before Mahivsh took down the video, it was already viral and as a result, Kashif had to contact Mahvish and apologize for what happened. Mahvish posted about it on her Instagram and confirmed that has not claimed any damages or compensation for taking down the video.
Well, that ended the matter of Mavhvish vs. Kashee’s. However, MediaSpring PK learned that this is not the first time that such an incident took place at the famous salon. Going through comments on social media we realized that their staff is utterly impolite and is habitual of ruining other’s experiences.
