Younis Khan became the first Pakistan batsman to score 9000 Test runs. He recently became Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in Tests by overtaking Javed Miandad’s 35 years old record of 8832 runs.
He reached the landmark after tea, he nudged leg-spinner Adil Rashid for a single, to reach 9000 runs.
Younis holds numerous records for Pakistan in Tests. He is the only Pakistani batsman who scored a century against all Test playing nations. Once he was the only test cricketer to have an average of fifty-plus in all innings of a Test match. He scored the most number of centuries (five) batting in the fourth innings and has the best average in the modern era in the fourth innings with 60.59. He also holds the record for most hundreds by a Pakistani in Test cricket – 30 tons.
